I Had a Baby! Oh Yeah, and Thanksgiving Tips
November 24, 2021
It’s Thanksgiving, and whatever you’re doing I hope you have a peaceful, joyful, and relaxing day. I know that for sure won’t happen if you eat or drink too much, so instead of restricting yourself, remember my mantra:
“I can have my cake (unhealthy food) and eat it too (health and confidence in my body), I just can’t eat that much cake.”
This mantra means that I can slide a little bit where it counts, but I can’t press the f&ck it button completely and expect to maintain my health and sanity. Here’s another gem:
The all-or-nothing mentality is the gateway drug to the f&ck it button.
Ok, I’ll stop speaking in codes (it’s the hormones I tell you), and lay it out simply:
Eat what you want and enjoy every bite, just don’t overeat. If you falter, don’t write it off as a failure and dive knee-deep into the pie, take some deep breaths, go for a walk, and start again with your next meal or snack. It’s often what we eat after we’ve decided “we failed” that is far more destructive than the meal we tripped up on in the first place.
Here’s an old video I made about eliminating the second helping. It’s my secret to “having my cake and eating it too”. No matter what goes on my plate (it’s a tower of stuffing in case you are wondering), I never go back for the second helping.
I’ll be snuggling my little turkey wishing you the healthiest holiday!
Quality over quantity xo
